Let’s Make a Difference

The cards are stacked against us.

In order to qualify for the ballot in November, we have to collect six times as many signatures as the candidates from the major parties.

As if that weren’t restrictive enough, only those not registered with one of the major parties can sign the nominating petition.

We’re not going to let that stop us.

BEFORE SIGNING THE PETITION, PLEASE CONFIRM:

  1. You are registered to vote in Arizona Congressional District 6

  2. You are not registered as a Democrat or Republican (sorry, this is a State law!)

  3. You have not signed another candidate’s petition for the same office

  4. You want to make a difference

A Common Misconception

“I’m not an Independent because I don’t want to give up the ability to vote in primary elections.”

Reality

You CAN vote in primary elections without a designated party affiliation!

In fact, you get the ability to choose which party’s ballot you want in a partisan primary. The only exception is the Presidential Preference Election - you have to be registered with a party to vote in that one. Fortunately, Arizona makes it easy to update your registration up to 29 days before an election! See the link below. For more information on Arizona’s primary elections, visit the Arizona Secretary of State website.
